Process: Since the yellow liquid is floating on the top of the water, it means that the liquid is denser than the water, hence, this shows that the yellow liquid and the water are immiscible liquids. Firstly, pour the mixture into the separating funnel from the top of the funnel. The yellow liquid will float as a distinct layer on top of the denser water. Turn on the tap and let the water flow out into a beaker. You need steady hands to turn off the tap right at the moment where the last of the water falls out. However, you can repeat this action a few times and a few minutes apart in order to make sure the DULL solution fully flows out, leaving the yellow liquid behind.
