Process: Since there is a strong alcohol smell, then it means that alcohol is present. Water and alcohol have different boiling point, hence, the method: distillation can thus be used. Pour the solution of alcohol and water into the flask. Then, heat the solution at a moderate temperature so that alcohol can evaporate fully and condense in the condenser before being collected in the beaker.
Now, the listed contaminants in the water are removed and the water can be tested if it can be repurified for sale.
